International Migratory Bird Day (IMBD), PIF’s keystone education and outreach program, is the only international education program that highlights and celebrates the migration of nearly 350 species of migratory birds between nesting habitats in North America and non-breeding grounds in Latin America, Mexico, and the Caribbean. IMBD officially takes place the second Saturday in May for the U.S. and Canada, and in October for Mexico, Central/South America, and the Caribbean

The various Midwest steering committees, subgroups, and working groups each meet on a periodic or intermittent basis (see the websites for each of these groups). The entire partnership convenes every two to four years. The last meeting was held in Port Washington, Wisconsin, in August 2014; the next large meeting is anticipated in August 2018.
