Partners in Flight is hosting its first Community Engagement Fellow in partnership with the American Bird Conservancy. Community Engagement Fellowships are intended for mid-career individuals seeking to create change through noticing, deep listening, and respectful engagement with ABC’s existing partners or with potential partners, who might include the residents of a place where we do conservation work, Tribes, or Indigenous groups, environmental justice organizations, or the members of conservation networks. Community engagement Fellows will work closely with ABC hosts to conduct research that centers interviews and create reports, tool kits, communications materials, or other products as requested by the communities they engage. These fellowships are most appropriate for people with experience in community engagement, education, organizing, social science research, or long-term service work.
The PIF Equitable Engagement Fellow will help to center the importance of ongoing landbird conservation efforts by Latin American and Caribbean partners. We are especially interested in identifying partners and projects that address landbird conservation and the needs of local people. Opportunities include interviewing Latin American and Caribbean partners to understand how PIF can best serve their needs, revising the PIF web page, and writing blog posts highlighting the work and perspectives of Latin American and Caribbean partners. The Fellow should bring their own goals and aspirations to the work and will be invited to shape the approach in accordance with individual strengths, experiences, and existing relationships. Fluency in Spanish and strong English proficiency required.
Location: Remote
Stipend: $20,000 for over 300 hours in a year
