PIF II Proceedings Cape May 1995
Note that this proceedings has now been reassigned as the 2nd Partners in Flight International Conference.
This volume represents a compilation of papers presented at the International Partners in Flight Workshop held October 1-5, 1995, at the Grand Hotel in Cape May, NJ. The title of the workshop was “Partners in Flight Conservation Plan: Building Consensus for Action.” The volume is divided into seven sections that range from general planning considerations to a case study in bird conservation planning. References from all papers are compiled in a single “References” section at the end of the volume.
The workshop had three main objectives:
1. To train wildlife biologists, land managers, education specialists, administrators, and other professionals involved in the long-term protection of landbirds in current knowledge of landbird research, monitoring, management, education, and on-the-ground conservation.
2. To devise a mechanism for developing regional bird conservation plans, and an overall national plan, by coordinating the actions and desires of all geographical and technical working groups.
3. To begin the planning process by setting goals, objectives, and timelines; to assign tasks; and to help four newly hired PIF coordinators get their work under way.
