The striking Prothonotary Warbler is on PIF’s Yellow Watch List because of persistent declines throughout its range and high threats to both breeding and winter habitats. The Lower Mississippi Valley Joint Venture is working to restore large contiguous forest blocks to benefit this and other bottomland hardwood forest specialists. © Laura Kammermeier Prothonotary Warbler
Rusty Blackbird population have declined precipitously in recent decades.
